Odd Couple

Sel Morrour is one of Midden's leading research scientists in the feild of genetics and species development and had made great strides in understanding and explaining Midden's vast number of seemingly genetically unrelated yes aestetically similar species. Her long time assistant Igla Vaspes is not actually a Hikki (naga), but a member of a rare Xain subspecies known simply as the Hijain. They are insectoid in psyiology, lacking internal bones and covered with a moderately hard leather-like skin. Their internal organs and structure is supported by a vast system of muscles and cartilage, making them very resiliant and strong, moreso than a normal Hikki or Xain.

Sel befriended Igla on an expedition through Vagool, a port on one of the coastal islands to the east of the Green Sea continent. She had been brought over by a previous expidition, but had proven to be to violent and wild to transport for further study. Sel managed to calm the then rather young Hijain down with a piece of fruit and some water (splashed in her face) and was able to transport her to the northern continent where the two stayed together till present day. Ilga learned Middenian Basic, and assists Sel in day to day activities within her laboratory, and has returned with her to the Green Sea on numerous occasions. The two of them are rather inseperable, with Igla acting much like a child with Sel as her maternal figure. She can still become quite violent if provoked, or if Sel is placed in harms way.
