Jemoa Female by JazzLizard Jemoa Female by JazzLizard
The Jemoa is a rarely documented desert dwelling species, living in some of the shallow caves that speckle Midden's immense equatorial desert. They tend to hunt at dawn and again at dusk, striking quickly with their stinger, and then withdrawing while their prey dies. If the prey takes more than 2 minutes to succumb to the deadly venom (which is actually a form of Axon destroying neriotoxin) then the Jemoa will finish it off with his/her claws. They will then drag the prey back to their cave, where they will feed.

Jemoa are not social at all, only encountering others to mate, or duel, if they are both male. The males are usually larger than the females, and hunt more often than their counterparts.

It would be interesting to see one try to hunt a similarly sized creature that had a particularly strong immunity to venoms and had it's own defenses.

Well, their stinger can inflict some serious damage on it's own, and their neurotoxins are pretty effective against everything other than their own species. Their forward claws are also very effective offensive weapons.

I have one of my own creations in mind, but for explanation; picture something with a build similar to a rhinoceros but utilizing an internal structure only partially dependent on nerve fibers.

I must admit I prefer the female. Great detail on the legs, tail and abdomen in general! I can imagine a picture of two male Jemoa dueling... hmm...

Thank you!
I always wanted to have a scorpion as a pet, but they're pretty dangerous.

there probally are a few species of scorpion that could be pets. The smaller a scorpion's pichers are, the more potent their poison is

I like bugs and their kin, so of course I like scorpions too... but I like em even more since I am a scorpio myself

I forgot to mention this, but the pose on this is awesome:D
